Christian Universities Online (CUO), the trusted guide to Christian colleges and universities, has ranked Hope International University #4 on their 2017 list of 25 Best Christian Colleges & Universities in the West. This recognition identifies colleges and universities that excel in categories of personal attention to their students, selectivity, readily available financial aid and overall student satisfaction.

As a private Christian university, HIU is committed to the integration of faith, service and learning. This dedication is reflected in the university’s mission statement, core values and statement of belief, the guiding lights for every activity, class and relationship on campus.

CUO offers these regional rankings not because any one area is superior to another, but that while not necessarily a top consideration in the decision, geography can often play a part in school selection. Not merely a subset of the national top 50; this list narrows the geographic criteria and starts from square one with the evaluation criteria.

The methodology behind this ranking began with schools that are members (or member eligible) of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).  Ranking was further evaluated based on the following five data points were collected from publicly available sources, 1) Faculty-to-student ratio, 2) Percent of full-time beginning undergraduates receiving grant or scholarship aid, 3) Selectivity, 4) Overall retention rate and 5) Overall graduation rate.
