Popular Christian recording artist/ songwriter and HIU alumnus Tyrone Wells ("98) is featured on the June cover of ParentingOC Magazine. As part of the Father"s Day Edition, Wells" article discusses the joys he experiences fathering his 2-year-old daughter Aria. He stresses the importance of being an "intentionally present" father and husband, especially in light of his demanding recording and touring schedule. Tyrone also describes how his faith is the main motivator and guide in all he does.

Wells" music career began as a student at Hope with the OC-based band Skypark. His talent flourished in the band, playing several instruments including the piano, guitar, and harmonica. Since then, he signed with Universal Records, secured the number one spot on the iTunes Singer/songwriter chart (multiple times) and has landed over 50 TV and film placements with his music.

This Fall, Tyrone is scheduled to perform at HIU's annual Spirit of Hope Gala. He plans to release another album in early 2015.
