HIU to Stage "Seussical the Musical" This Spring

Posted: February 2, 2015

Hope International University’s Pacific Auditorium stage will be transformed into the zany land of Dr. Seuss for their production of Seussical the Musical this spring. A talented group of HIU students, representing a broad spectrum of programs and disciplines, will present evening performances on April 10, 11, 17, and 18 (VIP Night.)

HIU’s spring musical has become a popular annual event for the local community as well as alumni and friends of the University. For the tenth consecutive year, HIU will also host special matinee performances for local elementary, junior high, and high school students, which includes a meet and greet with the cast.

Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza. The cast of colorful characters transport audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGukus to the invisible world of the Whos. The Broadway musical production is based on the works of Dr. Seuss, but is mainly a combination of “Horton Hears a Who!”, “Horton Hatches the Egg”, and “Miss Gertrude McFuzz.” The production first opened on Broadway in 2000 and has since become a family classic with the addition of Seussical Jr. for younger audiences.

General admission tickets are available for $10 each and can be reserved online or by calling 714-681-7235.

Hope International University is a Private Christian University in Fullerton, California. HIU was founded in 1928 as Pacific Bible Seminary in Long Beach. Since then, the institution has grown and now has an approximate enrollment of 2,000 students taking courses at the Fullerton or Anaheim campuses and also online.
