Hope International University’s Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program has been granted accreditation for a three-year period (11/1/15–11/1/18) by the International Accreditation Commission for Systemic Therapy Education (IACSTE). The Commission recognizes programs that meet and exceed established standards in the following five area: Theoretical Foundation, Research Methodology, Ethics and Related Professional Issues, Personal Development, and Clinical Skills Development. HIU is one of the first three programs to be granted this accreditation.

The IACSTE, an official accrediting body under the direction of the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA), focuses on the development and implementation of quality standards for programs around the world that provide systemic therapy education and training. These high standards are created to enhance the development of professionals who will be qualified to provide systemic therapy for individuals, couples, and families in the communities in which they live and work.

This year, Daniel Stillwell, PhD, will be representing Hope International University at the 24th World Family Therapy Conference, March 30-April 2, 2016 in Kona, Hawaii.
