Mark Comeaux, Vice President for Student Affairs
Mark Comeaux, Ph.D. was appointed Vice President for Student Affairs in April, 2005. Under his leadership, the Student Affairs Department has undergone a number of noticeable improvements. HIU retention rates have increased to a high of 71%, with the percentage continuing to climb upwards. A career center has been created, and programs have been put in place to aid students in their career development and job search. Student spiritual formation initiatives have also been at the forefront of prioritization.
Mr. Comeaux has vast experience in the area of Student Affairs. Prior to his appointment at Hope, he served as the Vice President of Student Development at Crossroads College in Rochester, MN. Before that, he was Professor of Physical Education & Sports Ministry and Athletic Director. In addition, he has served on ten accrediting visits for the Association of Biblical Higher Education with emphasis in student development.
Mr. Comeaux has a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton. He has an M.S. in Educational Administration from Winona State University, and a B.S. in Educational Administration from Central State University, in Edmond, OK. Professional memberships include The Association of Church Sports and Recreation Ministers and serving on the continuation committee of the North American Christian Convention. He and his wife Cathy (Cachiaras) are members of Eastside Christian Church in Fullerton.
