Loren Calandri (BA '09) works for the Tustin PD/ Orangewood Children's Foundation. She would like to become a police officer.
Brett Harvey (BA '09) upon graduating has taken on the role as the Catering and Cafeteria Manager here at HIU since August 2009. Brett worked for Bon Appetit as a student worker his senior year. He sees and works with most staff and faculty and still get to see his old classmmates that are still on campus.
Rachel (Ames/ BA '09) married Jared Johnson on August 14, 2009. They currently live in Gresham, OR.
Matthew Moncrief (FS ’09) has taken a job as the Minister of Christian Education and Youth at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona, CA, overseeing all youth and young adult programs from the nursery to post-grad. Pilgrim has just celebrated their 120th anniversary as a church. Matt has also bought a new home, and any time not spent hanging out with students or running events is spent fixing it up.
Nicolas Nelson (MA '09) and wife Kathryn have 3 children and 1 "son on loan." Nathaniel (16) is active writing his first science fiction novel and plans on returning to Zambia this summer. Armando (12) is only a few requirements away from First Call in Scouting. Joy (8) has discovered the joys of skiing with her father. Then Ming (19) has been their "son on loan" for the last two years. Ana Nguyen (MFT '09) is currently working as a bilingual therapist at Providence Community Services. She is working with minors who have suffered different traumatic events.
Mike Parejo (MA '09) currently serves as the Student Ministries Pastor for Pantano Christian Church, his primary focus being the Middle School ministry. He has served at Pantano for six years after coming to Tucson from California where he worked as a program manager for a software company and volunteered at his church with students for seven years. Mike has been married to his beautiful wife April for 12 years and they have two sons; Nathan (7) and Logan(5).
Daniel Sarmiento (FS '09) will become the Director of the Hispanic Youth Institute. Daniel with his wife and toddler moved to the Washington, DC area in September 2009.
Lani Smith (BA '09) is marrying Kevin Forbes (BA ’09) May 29th, 2010. The Forbes’ will live in Yorba Linda, CA.
Caleb Acton (BA '08) received his Master's in Theological Studies in Philosophy, Theology and Ethics at Boston University. He also received a certificate from Boston Theological Institute in Religion and Conflict Transformation.
Michelle Clark (BA '08) was married to Joshua Moore on March 26, 2010. They are currently living in Texas where Joshua is in the Army. Michelle was able to go on a mission trip to Haiti with a medical team working with the organization call Global Vision Citiadel ministries.
Oscar Holzmeister (CERT '08) is married to Esther Celia Holzmeister. They have two sons Facundo (13) and David Ryan (7). Originally from Argentina, Oscar is an engineer and working for T-Mobile as Lead Tech in the Inland Empire area. Esther is a Child Development Teacher from Fullerton College. The Holzmeister’s live in Chino Hills, CA.
Aaron Jones (BA '08) has been the Youth and Mission pastor at Oak Park Christian Church for the past two years. His wife of two years, Heather, will be graduating from HIU's SPS program in May 2010. They welcomed their first child into their home, Parker Aaron Jones, on March 15, 2010.
Frances (BS '08) and Dan Kurowski will celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary this summer. They have three children. Dan Jr. is finishing his Masters in Public Health at Boston University. He graduates in May of this year. Stephanie is a Senior at Cal State Northridge and John is a Junior at UC Santa Cruz. Frances continues to work at First 5 in Ventura County.
Diane Thompson (BS '08) was married in October 2009. She is now Diane McCarthy.
Gary Adams (MA '07) has been married to Leesa for 28 years. They have 5 children, Amanda (22), Matt (21), Nicole (18), Kellie (15) and Ryan (12). Gary serves as the Middle School Pastor at Eagle Christian Church in Eagle, Idaho. He is celebrating 26 years as a Youth Minister.
Linda M. Brown (BS '07) is in her third year at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA. She will graduate in May of 2011 with a Masters in Divinity. She then hopes to be assigned to a church in the southwest.
Devan Bumstead (BA '07) followed God's call to Longmont, CO to work at LifeBridge Christian Church beginning as a Worship Intern, then a Worship Apprentice after a year, and this year a Worship Associate. He is currently the worship minister for one of LifeBridge's off-site campuses (Johnstown) as well as the worship minister for student ministries at the Longmont campus. Devan was ordained in November '09 at LifeBridge with the help of Ken LaMont (on staff at HIU).
Wende Holtzen (BS '07) recently completed a Master of Science in Human Resources with a Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University.
After graduation, Matthew Jacobs (BA '07) went on to be a bank teller, then a banker with Wells Fargo. Then he was hired by the LAPD last summer and now is in his "rookie" phase assigned as a training officer at Venice Beach.
The Rev. Bob and Kristi Rice (MBA '07) serve in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where Bob will be a Christian education and evangelism consultant with the Presbyterian Community of Congo. Kristi has been appointed to team ministry and will assist Bob in his role. The Rices come to Presbyterian mission service with prior overseas experience. They met in Rwanda in 2003, when Kristi was working with a microfinance program run by World Relief and Bob was serving as a short-term mission worker with African Enterprise assisting its evangelism team.
Chris (BA '07) and Rayda (Jaber/ BA '09) Simmons have purchased a home, and had a daughter, Elliane. Chris has earned his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation from the College of Financial Planning.Tony Decker (AA '06, BS '08) has been promoted to a Director position at the Aerospace Corporation.
Josh (BA '06) and Stacy (Greek/ BA '04, MA '06) Engle are proud parents of Sophia, born in 2009. Josh will graduate from Fuller Theological Seminary in June 2010 with a Masters in Cross Cultural Studies and a Masters in Theology. He is an Associate Pastor at Hidden Valley Christian Church in Escondido, CA. Stacy taught 7th grade prior to Sophia's birth. Currently she helps out at the church and stays home with Sophia, but hopes to return to teaching.
Tim and Michelle Nagasawa-Atkins (BA, 06) had their first child, Jeremiah Kiyoshi Atkins, on February 19, 2010. He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and was 20 inches long. He is beautiful and they feel truly blessed!
Sandi Oravetz (MEd '06) is currently teaching for two online universities. She also does consulting with private K-12 schools that are looking at becoming accredited.
Angela (Bichan/ BA '06) married David Radford, a former student, on November 2, 2006. Angela is the Children's Director at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church on the San Mateo Campus.
Jennifer Nosker Gebauer (BA ’06) was the student speaker for the University of Southern California May 14 graduation ceremony as she was awarded a graduate degree in social work. She received three honors during the ceremony – Dean’s scholar, Phi Kappa Phi, and one of five student recognition awards.
Debbie (LaFollette/BS '06) Sanders remarried in April 2009. She graduated in Dec. 2009 with an Educational Specialist degree in Information Sciences and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri-Columbia . Debbie is currently a doctoral student at Oklahoma State University majoring in College Teaching. She is working at OSU on a NASA Educational Project called INSPIRE, an online learning community for 9-12 graders as an Instructional Developer as well as being an Online Adjunct Instructor at Langston University in Langston, OK where she teaches Intro to Informational Processing. Her goal is to become a full-fledged faculty member, specializing in online instruction in the area of educational technology or multi-media design.
Scott Wallace (MA '06) is no longer working at Rainier View Christian Church but has taken a mission position heading up the Bible Institute for IAM ministries in Chile, Ecuador and Peru. Hope participates by sending professors and certificating students.
Stephanie (BA '05) and Tom Arbaugh are preparing to have their second child, Elias, due in June. Their first child, Eden, will be 3 this summer. In July the Arbaughs will be moving to Johnson City, TN so that Tom can pursue his MDiv at Emmanuel. Stephanie will be graduating this May from CSU Chico with an MA in English Literature. She is currently teaching at CSU Chico and holds a top position with a major company in the beauty industry.
Andrea Brannam (FS '05), who teaches second grade, was named Teacher of the Year at Las Palmas Elementary School in San Clemente, CA.

Zach (BA '05) and Kristi Gibson are currently living in Hemet, CA where Zach is the Student Ministries Pastor at Community Christian Church. He works with the Jr. High, High School, and College students. Kristi is currently working on her teaching credential.
Katherine "Bernice" Lomheim (BS '05) upon graduation from HIU attended Azusa Pacific and earned a Multiple Subject, Special Education credential and a Masters in Education (2009) with emphasis in Special Education.
Matthew (BA '05) and Joy (MA '07) Phelps moved to Murfreesboro, NC in 2009 where Matthew is the Head Men's Soccer Coach and Joy is the Athletic Business Manager at Chowan University. Matthew and Joy have a beautiful 21 month old daugher, Abigail.
Mara Pickering (Stomberg/ BA '05) and her husband welcomed their baby boy, Caleb, into the world November 17, 2009. They also have a 2-year-old daughter, Abigail. The Pickering’s are currently living in Bulgaria.
Michelle (Cuthill/ BA '05) and Jorge Rodriguez are pleased to announce the birth of their first child, Carson Scott, born Jan. 4, 2010. Michelle had been teaching Physical Education at San Marcos Middle School for the past 4 years. She finished her Masters in Physical Education this past fall. Jorge works for DirecTV and the USMC reserves. The Rodriguez's live in Murrieta, CA.
Katherine Roberts (BS '05) and her husband have a new baby girl. Kathy teaches at Covina Valley Unified School District as a 9th and 11th grade English teacher. Jason (BA '05) and Elizabeth (Creech/ BA '05) Shafer have found a new home in Indian Wells, CA, where Jason has new position at Southwest Community Church as one of their worship pastors. Jason has just completed his 3rd triathlon in March, and Elizabeth ran a half marathon this past May.
Caleb (BA ’05) and Michelle Ternak announce the birth of their daughter, Addison Ann Ternak on April 9th, 2010. The Ternak’s live in Raleigh, NC.
Greg (MBA '05) and Susan West live in Dalton, GA. They have two children, Byron and Tilea. Greg currently is writing advertising scripts for a local cable and broadcast station, grant writing and public relations for a Christian teen pregnancy ministry. Susan is working on her Doctorate and is a professor of Radiology Technology at Dalton State.
Albert Wolfe (BA '05) is in his fourth year teaching English as an independent teacher at a university in China and in planning on doing a fifth. In April 2009, his book, Chinese 24/7: Everyday Strategies for Speaking and Understanding Mandarin was published. He writes music, is working on a novel, and continues to post his latest discoveries about the Chinese language on his blog www.LaowaiChinese.net.
Janelle Amperse (BS '04) is a first grade teacher for the Compton Unified School District. She is the proud grandmother of Jayden (3) and Micah(6 months).
Jeff (BA '04) and Claire Eberhardt adopted 2 boys in the Spring of 2009. The Eberhardt’s currently live in Roseville, CA where Jeff works for Roseville Video Services.
Jason Parks (BA '04) married Kristin Dodds on February 27, 2010 at Monte Verde Park in Lakewood. Kristin is a 2006 graduate of Biola University with a bachelor's degree in vocal performance. She is a store manager at Starbucks in La Mirada. Jason is a flight attendant and recruiter for SkyWest Airlines.Rod (MA '03) Hoschouer is now serving as Pastor to Senior Adults at Crossroads Christian Church in Newburgh (Evansville) Indiana. Sarah Kimakwa (MBA '03) received her Masters degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University on May 16, 2009. She will be moving to Chicago where she has accepted the position of Acquisitions Librarian at Chicago State University. Sarah had served HIU since 2001, first as a student employee and more recently as the Acquisitions Manager for the Darling Library.
Betty Odak ( MFT, '03) has just been Licensed by the State of CA as a foster parent for 4 teenagers. She has started an adoption agency called Cross Cultural Adoption And Foster Parent(s) Inc . Published a book called, “Before, After, And Beyond Bankruptcy” and has an online magazine, “Beyond Cross Cultural Magazine”.
Sarah M. Reed (BA '03) will celebrate four years of marriage and her graduation from Santa Clara University with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. Following graduation, Sarah will accept an intern position with Kaiser Permanente's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic.
Christine Soner (BA '03) married Matt Davison. She teaches art at the Orange County High School of the Arts.
Eleanor Tse (MA '03) is currently working at Hidden Villa Ranch's corporate offices in Fullerton where after only six months, she received a promotion. It has been four years since the death of her husband, Nathan. Their son William will celebrate his 13th birthday in April.
David Bellows (MA ’02) and his wife, Linda, reside in Ocala FL. David completed seven years of ministry as Minister of Worship & Arts with Central Christian Church of Ocala in 2009, then served 9 months as part-time Music Minister with Round Lake CC in Mount Dora FL, prior to beginning a new ministry as Senior Minister with Christ's Church of Marion County (Ocala FL) in April 2010.
Tim (BA '02) and Mariah Bower will be celebrating their 5 year anniversary in June and their son Isaac's second birthday in September. Tim is working as a Senior Business Analyst at United Health Group in Cypress CA.
Jamie Crandall (BA ’02) is the Children and Families Director at Foothills Community Church in Santa Rosa, CA since July of 2008. She has completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University.
Jennifer Ficke (Wheeler/BA '02) and her husband David announce the birth of their third son, Nathanael Jacob, born Feb. 24th 2010! Jennie is currently a stay-at-home mom and studying to be a children's writer. Sharyn Guminiak (BA '02, MEd '05) has worked in both private and public schools as an elementary teacher, high school math teacher, and an instructional coach with an emphasis in math. Sharyn has also earned a single-subject math credential through testing and earned an MS in Secondary Education: Emphasis in Middle School Math from Cal State Fullerton in 2009. After 10 years of marriage, Sharyn and husband John are expecting their first child, a little girl, in June.
Seth (BA '02) and Christi (BA '99, TC '00) Morley live in Aumsville, OR. Seth is the Minister of Family Life at Turner Christian Church. Christi was recently was hired as the assistant preschool teacher at Little Lambs Christian Preschool of Turner Christian Church. The Morley's have two children, Isaiah (5) and Ivy (3).
Ian Blacker (MA '01) has been the pastor at Lamar Christian Church in Colorado. Under his guidance he has seen the church grow in number, spirit and ministry impact in the community. His wife, Lori is no longer the worship pastor, but is a full time music and art teacher in the local elementary school. Their two oldest daughters are married and their youngest is still at home.
Rebecca Briesacher (Plumb/ BA '01) and her husband Steven are expecting their first child, Aidan Ray Briesacher, on July 29th, 2010. Rebecca and Steven purchased their first house last year, and Rebecca works as a sign language interpreter in Glendale, AZ.
Dr. Joseph Kelly (BS '01, MEd '06) recently earned a doctorate from UCLA in Educational Leadership. He is in his first year as the principal at Eastside High School in Lancaster, CA.
Paul (BA '01) and Stacey (Bennett/ BA '98) Leonard have two sons, Peter, ( 7), and Reuben, (3). They are expecting a third child in 2011 through Korean adoption. Paul has been the senior pastor at Ladoga Christian Church for 5 years and Stacey has been a full-time mom since Peter was born. They are in prayer about moving overseas in the next few years.
Mark Reiswig (BA '01), wife Kim and daughter Julia Grace (born 11/23/08) are living in Glendale, AZ. Their second child was born in January 2010. Mark is putting his intercultural studies degree to use as an associate pastor at Catalyst Church located in a diverse community of Phoenix, AZ.
Amy Samson (Voge/ BA '01) lives in Rocklin, CA with her husband Thor and their new baby Benjamin Luke who was born 7/29/09. Amy is a Speech-Language Pathologist in the local school district.
Rachael Cramer (BA '00) married Ryan Carbary on June 20, 2009. They live in Mukilteo, WA, where Rachael continues to work as a personal trainer and coach high school volleyball (State Champs 2008, 2009) and Jr. High track. Ryan is a musician and is in the band Ivan & Alyosha.
Deanna (Durazzo/ BM '00, MEd '02, TC '02) and Eric Jasper welcomed their second son, Elijah Matthew, in November, joining his brother Ian (2).
Ayame Crosley (BA ’99) and her husband, Scott, live with their 5 children in Austin, TX. She is a stay at home mom. Scott is an Army chaplain who recently completed Ranger school. The Crosley’s enjoy ministering to soldiers and their families together.

Andrea (Jensen/ BA '99, TC '01, MEd '04) and Matthew Yaney are excited to announce the birth of their new son, Lucas Jensen Yaney. He was born on January 31, 2010 at 7:04 P.M. He weighed in at 6 lbs 15 oz and was 20 inches long. He is a blessing to the family.
Erica (BA '99) and Todd McNeal are so excited about the adoption of their son Austin Christopher Jack. He was born on October 18, 2009 and was into their arms on November 5th, 2009. His adoption was finalized on May 19, 2010 in St Louis, MO. The McNeal's are also moving to New Jersey so Todd can complete the Advanced Study of Air Mobility School for the Air Force and will most likely return to a flying squadron thereafter.
Ken Murphy (BS '99) works at the Christian Community Credit Union in San Dimas and is a Vice President of Operations of the Ministry Development Group. He has been married to his wife Theresa for 16 years. They just recently celebrated the one year birthday of their daughter, Chloe.
Loydeen Pulsifer (BA '99) has had an amazing 2009 summer modeling in China. While she has seen and experienced may things, she delights in her ability to witness to others in the local coffee shop and attend Christian churches. Michael Daehn (BA '96, MA '98, MBA '99) launched a website with free resources for non-profits at Philanthr.org where he continues to add videos, articles, blog posts and access to his marketing books during his free time to share his knowledge with non profits. All content is free for non-profits. Michael still has his day job overseeing the eCommerce site for TotalHockey.com.
Christina Murray (Grimstad/ BA '98, MA '02, MEd '05) and her husband Matt announce the birth of their son Micah, born August 17, 2009.
Loren Bass (BA '98) was married on December 4th, 2009, to Carly Harrod, a Westmont grad in Carpenteria, CA.
Howard "Howie" (FS '98) and Amy (Talbott/ BA '99) Biemeck live in Phoenix, AZ. Howie is now the Youth Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel in North Phoenix. Amy is a part-time Doula (labor and delivery support) and a full-time, stay-home mom to Howie (10), Kenya (6), Isaiah (4) and Mya (2).
Melinda Huff (Reiswig/ BA '97) and husband Michael continue to be missionaries in Nepal with OM. The Huff's are excited about their new baby, born in May.
(David) Andrew Kreighbaum (BA '97) resigned from the Glendale Police Dept in April 2006 with God's call to go into ministry. With his wife, Jenny, they helped plant a church. The Kreighbaum's have been in ministry now for 4 years, their church's anniversary was Easter. Andrew and Jenny have 5 beautiful children, Morgan (15), Bailey(12), Bryn (4), Ephraim (2), and Asher (almost 1).
Dean Christensen (MA, ‘96) on February 1, 2010, became the director of the Office of Advising Services at California State University, Fresno. Prior to that, he was the interim director for two years, and before that, Dean worked six years as an academic counselor in the same office. This follows a 16-year career as a Christian Church pastor in southern and central California.
Steve Taylor (MA '96) is the Senior Pastor at Celebrate Life Christian Church in Lancaster, PA. Steve has been there since 2005.
Last year Karissa Glanville (BA '96) published a Narnia-type novel under the name K.L. Glanville entitled “The Realm: the Awakening Begins.” She is currently taking a break from her PhD studies to promote the book by speaking in classrooms and youth groups across the country. Wayne Brazil (MFT '94) recently lost his wife Meg in September 2009 after a long illness. Wayne is currently teaching Psychopharmocology in the MFT Masters program at HIU. He formed the Pacific Coast Psychological Associates (PCPA)where 18 therapists serve the whole spectrum of issues including families, individuals, adolescents and children.
Doug Anderson (BA '94) is currently the General Manager of Chick-fil-A in Castle Rock, CO. He is married to Melissa (FS, 1992-1994), and they have 3 daughters, Emily (16), Megan (13), and Shelby (10). They currently reside in Colorado Springs and attend Discovery Christian Church where Doug is part of the leadership team. Rebecca (BA '95) and Michael Smith still run their pizza restaurant. However, they like to travel in their RV. Their goal is to travel to Oregon in the summer to be with family and south in the winter to be warm and volunteer at places wherever they go, living their lives to the praise of His glory, Proverbs 16:9.
Kathryn Ford (BA '93) married Duane Dickerson in 2004. They moved to Big Bear, CA in 2007. Kathryn is currently working part time at a chiropractic office in Costa Mesa as a massage therapist.
Curtis (BA '92) and Jennifer (Scates/ BA '93) Batchelder have moved to Rochester, IL where Curtis is the Children's Minister at Rochester Christian Church.
Kirsten (Kemp/ BA, '92) and Matt Lunsford are about to celebrate their 9th anniversary. They have three children: Ella (6), Olivia (2 ½) and Jack (1). Matt is going on his 10th year working for Intel and Kirsten is blessed to be able to stay home with the kids. They are also nearing the end of their first year of homeschooling. Ella is almost finished with kindergarten and will be starting first grade in the Fall.
Michael (BA '92, MFT '99) and Natalie Blankenship have moved to Florence, OR where Michael will be ministering with Florence Christian Church.
Tammy Bennett (Gallegos/ AA '91, BA '92) continues to live in Nashville, TN with her 9 year old daughter, Angelia where she has worked in the music industry for almost 20 years. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Marriage and Family Thereapy. Tammy is still involved with ministry to divorced parents, speaking all aroung the country on "co-parenting" and writing articles in Parent Life Magazine.
Cyndi Shrader (91) and Jorge Pantoja announce the birth of their new son, Tobias Shrader Pantajo, 5 lbs, 18 1/4 inches on July 13, 2010. Big sister who is three said, "Dude, that is so cool!"
Bekele Demissie (BA '91, MA '94) was named Business Leader of the Year for 2009 by the Orange County Presidents Council (OCPC). Demissie is a business relations administrator for OCTA, serving as a liaison between businesses and the authority.
Jody Pierce (BA '91) is married to Mike Rothermel. They have one son, Zane, who just turned 6. Jody loves teaching 4th grade in Arlington, Arizona. This will be her 14th year there. She is a member of the Arlington Baptist Church where she teaches the preteen Sunday School.
Steve Welch (BA '90) has spoken extensively for the past 20 years on Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses. He has been down to Chile, Mexico, and to various churches around the U.S. (Reno, Chandler, etc) sharing about the false teaching of these cults.
Tracy (BA '89) and David Gonzalez have two daughters, Taylor (13) and Brooke (11). After working as a teacher at Eastside Christian School for 6 years, Tracy is now a stay at home mom.
(Ernest) Jay (BA '89, MA '00) and Kathleen (Poseley/ AA '89, BA '91) Jones live in Richmond Hill, GA. Jay is the pastor of Adult Ministries at Savannah Christian Church in Savannah, GA. They have two children, Bailey (17) and Mitchell (14).
Greg Robbins (BA '88) has been serving 10 years as the Childrens and Youth Pastor at Spurgeon United Methodist Church in Santa Ana, CA. Greg and his wife Julie are adopting a baby, Luke Gregory Robbins. Greg’s daughter Alyssa (23) and his son Kyle (20) from a previous marriage are also very active as volunteers in the Spurgeon youth ministry.
Kurt Hardenbrook (MA '88) is a Funeral Arranger for Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary in Lancaster, CA. He has 12 grandchildren with one more on the way. Kurt and his wife, Betty, attend Central Christian Church in Lancaster.
Cheryl (Crockett/ BA '88) and Harlan Harris(FS ' 88) have been married for 21 years, and they have two daughters. Harlan works at Microsoft as a Program Manager and Cheryl is the Client/Project Manager at ADP. They are active at Eastside Foursquare Church in Seattle, WA where Harlan is the part-time Worship Leader. A Bible study that Cheryl wrote was published called "Living Beyond the Frame". Dustin Parker (FS '87) presently lives in Stanton, CA with his wife Kay, and three year old, William. Dustin is the senior pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cerritos.
Michael Wing (MA ’85) is in his 12th year teaching music at St. Mary’s School in Medford, OR. He was named Community Service Director working with local youth. His wife Kathy is the News Producer at the ABC –TV station in Medford. They have a one year old grandson, Daniel. Michael continues to sing in area choirs, having principle roles in two local operas. The Wings’ attend the Christian Church of Ashland, where he an elder, teaches Bible studies and coordinates worship services.
Scott Thayer (BA '82) has started a new call at The Presbyterian Church of Toms River, NJ, as the Associate Pastor, Equipping Ministries.
Bob (BA '82) and Amy Carter have crossed the 25 year line in marriage and ministry with Wycliffe. The Solomon Islands Bible was dedicated in July 2008, and so many have been sold that the churches are considering a reprint. Bob is now in Jerusalem teaching translators Biblical Hebrew and Old Testament Translation.
Stephen Higgins (BA '79, MA '86) became the new president of Williams Christian College in Franklin, TN in July 2009.
Douglas Love (BA '79) celebrated 27 years of marriage to MaryBeth in December 2009. After pastoring four southern California churches for nearly 28 years, Doug left pastoral ministry in 2007. He is now is a District Sales Coordinator with Aflac. Doug and MaryBeth are members of HRock Church in Pasadena. Doug teaches in the HRock "Solid Rock" school and is developing a mentoring ministry for new believers. The Love's have two adult children, Andrew and Amy.
Janice “Janny”(Johnson/ BA '78) Stevenson and her husband Kevin will celebrate their 30th anniversary in the summer of 2010. They have three grown children: Rob a 2nd Lt. in the US Marine Corp., Emily, a student at Portland State University and Michael, a student at Biola University.
Chris (FS '78) and Susan Pruitt have three children, Evan (12), Joel (9), and Josie (4) who they homeschool. The Pruitt’s run an accounting business, but their avocation is counseling married Christians who are contemplating divorce. They serve several churches in their area as a resource for extended counseling.
Kaye Lindsey (BS '78) was chosen to accept the Corporate Leader Award on behalf of State Farm at Leadership California’s Legacy of Leadership Awards Dinner, on May 4, 2009 in Los Angeles.
Kim Voelker (AA '77, BS '00) is the principal at Hephatha Lutheran School in Anaheim Hills, CA. Kim and husband, Charles' daughter, Jennifer married in Oct. 2009 and their son, Joshua was married in Nov. 2008.
Steve Alley (BA '75) is still happily married to Cora after 35 years of marriage. They have only one granddaughter, Teagan, who is an amazing leader at 3 years old! The Alley's are actively involved in training children’s ministry leaders.
Ron Cushing (BA ’74, MEd ‘06) is the Principal of Independence Christian School in Orange, CA. The school will be moving to a new location in Anaheim in Sept. 2010. Christine Cushing (Chatham/ BA ‘73) teaches voice and musical theater at Independence Christian School. She recently staged and directed the annual school variety show. Her recent musical production of "Under the Sea” was performed by elementary students this June.
Susan (Mooney/ FS '73) Mercado is the Principal at Maple Elementary School in Fullerton, CA.
Roger Steiner (BA ’71) and his wife Bernadette have been in the commercial & residential real estate business for over 31 years in the Corona / Norco area. They attend Crossroads Christian Church in Corona.
Ralph Mehrens (FS '66) is now semi-retired and is currently the Senior Associate Minister at Calvary Christian Church. Ralph and his wife Patrica currently live in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Don Johnson (BA '60) continues to be very active providing weekly chapels at the Highland Terrace Nursing Center in Camas, WA. He is making great strides with his physical therapist. His sons, Doug and Andy and daughter Jan Lea are all well. Don is blessed with his 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Charles (BA '54) and Mildred Arnold celebrated their 65th wedding aniversary. They were married in San Diego during the war. The Arnolds' have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. They live in Dana Point, CA and attend FCC Huntington Beach.
