1/15/2008 - Lancers Use Speed to Blow Past Royals

Fullerton, CA- On Tuesday night, the NAIA’s #15 California Baptist use a combination of team speed and balance to knock off Hope International, 79-55. The Royals had four players finish in double digit scoring.

The Royals (1-11, 1-5 GSAC) had both Senior Travis Hardeman and Junior Arron Boone finished with 11 points. Sophomores Boran Rajcic and Michael Johnson each finished with 10 points.

However, Hope International could not slow the down the unselfish play of California Baptist (13-1, 5-1 GSAC). In fact, while only two players ended up in double figures for the Lancers, all five starters had at least 8 points. Overall, they were lead by 16 points from Matt Gonzales and 14 points from Mark Roussin.

The Lancers finished the game hitting 51% of their shots- the second best against the Royals all season.

The Royals will play the second game of a GSAC double header with the women’s team on Saturday at The Master’s College in Santa Clarita. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 pm. Both games can be heard live on Stretch Internet.
