12/01/2007 - Hardeman Hardly Enough

San Diego, CA- Hope International traveled to GSAC rival Point Loma Nazarene on Saturday and lost 76-50 inside the Golden Gym. Senior Travis Hardmen tried to keep the Royals close with 18 points.

The Royals (1-5, 1-2 GSAC) shoot themselves in the foot from behind the 3 point line and free throw line. They finished 4 of 17 from behind the arc while shooting just 8 for 26 from the stripe.

Hardeman shot 8-10 from the field but suffered through the free throw woes like his teammates by hitting just 1-7 from the line.

Junior Arron Boone was the next closest Royal to double figures with 7 points but left the game due to a knee injury early in the second half.

The Sea Lions (7-1, 3-0 GSAC) were led by Senior Josh Sanderson who hit the opening basket of the game and never looked back. He finished with 18 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.

Nick Corso joined in on the fun for Point Loma with 12 points, all from behind the 3 point line, and 6 rebounds. He was one of five Sea Lions to finish with 6 rebounds.

Curtis Carlson was the third Sea Lion in double figures with 11 points.

The Royals will have to wait for 25 days until they hit the hardwood again. Their next game is scheduled for the day after Christmas at home against Fontbonne from Missouri. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 inside the Darling Pavilion.
