3/5/2008 - Tired Royals Lose in First Round of GSAC Tournament

Costa Mesa, CA- For the second time in three years, the Royals qualified for the GSAC Post Season Tournament and this year had the undaunting task of facing on #4 Vanguard on their home floor. The Lions wore out the Royals, 86-61, with a balanced attack and constant rotation of players. Senior Jasmine Nault scored 20 points in her final game against a GSAC opponent.

The Lions, sensing the lack of energy, applied the defensive pressure from the word go and forced the Royals into 25 turnovers for the game. The Royals also managed to shot just 34.4% (21-61) for the game.

Freshman Brittani Philbrook had yet another solid all-around performance with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and a team high 4 assists.

Freshman Shauna Ricker brought her “A” game as she scored a career high 9 points on 4-7 shooting. She also tied a career high with 5 rebounds.
