4/10/2008 - Royals Shutout La Sierra
Riverside, CA- Freshman Kasey Martin did not allow a point all day for the Royals as they shut out La Sierra 9-0. Junior Brittney Munoz had a solid day as well by only allowing two points.
Martin, who recently joined the Women’s Tennis team after playing for Hope’s Women’s Basketball team, won her singles match 6-0, 6-0. She partnered with McKenna Hamel to sweep their doubles match 8-0.
Munoz was not too far off from serving a shutout herself as she won her singles match 6-0, 6-1. Teaming up with Alexandra Weiss, the ladies only allowed one point as they won doubles match 8-1.
A 6-4 loss in Game 1 of the #1 singles match was the closest the Golden Eagles came to winning a game.
The Royals, having won 3 of their last 4 matches, improved to 3-12 on the season. The Golden Eagles fell to 1-8 on the season.
