9/29/2007 - Beliakoff Errorless- Royals Fall

Fullerton, CA- In a rare Saturday matinee, the Royals faced off against Westmont in a GSAC match. The Warriors defeated the Royals 3-0 (30-23, 30-25, 30-26). Sophomore Debbie Beliakoff kept the Royals close by committing no errors in 20 attempts with 11 kills.

Hope International (3-8, 1-7 GSAC) made just 15 errors for the match- their lowest error total of the season. Sophomore Jillian Lane helped out the cause with 8 kills with only 4 errors (her third lowest match total of the season). Lane also added a team high 19 digs. Unfortunately for the Royals, they were only able to muster 115 total attempts that produced 39 kills.

On the other side of the net, Westmont's (8-9, 1-7 GSAC) error-to-total attempt ratio proved to be the difference in the match. They had only 16 total errors on 143 attempts. Laura Trudelle led the charge with 13 kills while making only two errors.

The Royals will look to continue cutting down on their errors when they go on the road this Tuesday to face against the NAIA's #1 Team- Fresno Pacific. The match is scheduled for a 7pm first serve.
