10/02/2007 - #1 Sunbirds Remain Perfect- Defeat Royals

Fresno, CA- The Royals hit the road for their furthest GSAC match of the season and went head-to-head against the NAIA's #1 team- Fresno Pacific. The Sunbirds proved to be too much for the Royals defeating them 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-9).

Sophomore Jillian Lane tried to keep the Royals (3-9, 1-8 GSAC) by posting a double-double- 10 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Amanda Elliott chipped in with 9 kills. Unfortunately, they were the only Royals with more than 4 kills.

The Sunbirds (18-0, 9-0 GSAC) showed their versatility by having five players with 8 kills or more. Fabiana Leomil had a double-double of her own with 10 kills and 13 digs. Lisa Shilling led all hitters with 11 kills. Shu Lui picked up assists on 40 of the 51 kills by Fresno Pacific.

Trying to snap a seven match losing streak, the Royals will take on the NCAA DIII Chapman Panthers in Orange on Thursday at 7pm.
