Paine Takes the Women’s Soccer Reins at Hope International

Fullerton, CA-Hope International University is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Paine as their new Women’s Soccer Coach. Paine is no stranger to the Royals’ coaching staff after serving as the Associate Head Coach of Women’s Soccer last year.

Last Fall, Paine turned up on the HIU coaching radar randomly during the summer and arrived just in time for training camp from his home roots of the Northwest. While kicking off his Royals’ coaching tenure, he was also enrolling in grad school at Hope International.

The HIU Women’s Soccer team finished the 2010 season with a 6-8-3 record and one win away from a trip to the NCCAA National Tournament.

Prior to his arrival at HIU, Paine spent five and half years as an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at George Fox University in Newberg, OR. As a coach he work very closing with the defense while also handling a large load of the administrative duties. With Paine’s assistance, the NCAA Division III Bruins produced a record of a 43-51-5.

As a player, Paine spent his collegiate days playing for the Bruins from 2001-2004 where he was a four year defensive star. He was named Freshman of the Year in 2001. His junior season, he earned team captain honors.

Starting with his days as a college student, Paine has spent five of the last eight years working with Uncharted Waters Sports Camps teaching soccer and help teach bible and sports stories. The camps, geared toward 6-12 year olds, sent Paine all over the continental United States (Texas, South Carolina, Colorado, Oklahoma, and inter-city Los Angeles) as well as to Haiti and Thailand.

While working as a coach at George Fox, Paine worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Deloitte & Touche LLP. This Fall, he will become an Adjunct Professor in the Hope International University Business Department teaching two classes a semester.

Educationally, Paine is finishing up a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management at Hope International University. He graduated from George Fox University in 2005 with a double Bachelors of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Finance.

Paine currently resides in Yorba Linda, CA, and is an active member of Rock Harbor Church in Fullerton, CA.
