HIU and T.E.N.T. Ministries Form New Partnership
In July of 2007 Hope and T.E.N.T. Ministries India initiated an academic partnership that will provide students in India with an education in ministry and intercultural studies. Through this partnership Hope has agreed to offer a customized version of the SGS Ministry Department’s Master of Arts degree with an emphasis in Intercultural Studies to students approved by T.E.N.T. Ministries.
T.E.N.T. Ministries India is an indigenous ministry formed in 1985, aimed at equipping grassroots workers to carry the message of Christ to the numerous unreached people groups of India. The acronym T.E.N.T. stands for “Training in Evangelism Needs and Technology. One of T.E.N.T.’s educational efforts provides high-level training and exposure to students, missionaries, evangelists, and social workers. Through a combination of biblical studies, evangelistic training, development theory and practice, social services, natural sciences, and technology training, T.E.N.T. equips participants for holistic development in mission.
The SGS Ministry Department’s M.A. degree includes 36 units of study designed to contribute to students’ biblical and theological development, professional development in various ministry skills, and personal development both spiritually and mentally. 27 of those units will be made available online and a trimester system will be used through which students may complete one course each Fall, Spring, and Summer.
