Renowned speaker Jeff Walling was presented with Honorary Doctorate of Divinity by Hope
Hope awarded renowned Christian teacher, author, minister and speaker Jeff Walling with an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity during the university's commencement ceremony, held Saturday, May 19, 2007. Walling has dedicated the last thirty years of his life to ministry, speaking and teaching in several countries around the world. In recognition of a lifetime achievement in Christian service, Hope presented Walling with our most distinctive honor.
"Hope International University's mission is to prepare men and women through Christian higher education to serve the Church and impact the world for Christ," said President John Derry. "We believe that Jeff Walling is one who truly understands and fulfills such a calling."
Over the course of his career, Walling has spoken at conferences and seminars across the globe. He has written several books including Daring to Dance With God, Until I Return: 12 Things Jesus Wants Every Believer to Know, and Hugs For Graduates. Walling has also made guest appearances on numerous national radio and television programs such as Janet Parcell's America, The 700 Club, and PTL.
Walling lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife, Cathryn and their three sons, Tyler, Riley, and Spencer. He is now in his tenth year of service as the senior minister for Providence Road Church of Christ.
