The Diversity Committee at Hope International University is hosting an exciting diversity awareness event on Thursday, October 19, 2006, in the Pacific Auditorium. Jane Elliott, renowned diversity expert, will deliver a presentation addressing such issues as racism, ageism, homophobia, and ethnocentrism.
Elliott is best known for her famous Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes experiment that she conducted in her elementary school classroom during the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. This provocative experiment powerfully demonstrated the devastating effect of hidden prejudices. To learn more, please visit www.janeelliott.com. Her presentation, "The Anatomy of Prejudice" will also discuss her Peabody Award-winning film, "The Eye of the Storm".
This event is open to the general public and required of Hope students. Ticket prices are $5 at the door for non-Hope student/faculty/staff.
