7/1/09 Fullerton, CA - Hope International University Sponsors Scavenger Hunt for Students in Downtown Fullerton

Hope International University’s New Student Orientation (NSO) is sponsoring a new event this year for incoming freshman: the "Downtown Fullerton Scavenger Hunt”. The event is Thursday, August 20, from 6 – 8 pm in the Downtown Fullerton area.

The Scavenger Hunt is designed to highlight local businesses and to show students what the Fullerton Downtown District has to offer. NSO supports new students as they transition into the Hope community, and event coordinators want to also ensure that students get plugged into the city of Fullerton. The event will take place during the weekly Farmers Market to capture Fullerton’s commitment to community. Beth Lee, Director of Career Services and Retention at Hope, states: “We desire for students to see themselves as a part of the greater local community; investing in the city of Fullerton and feeling at home.”

NSO event coordinators are still looking to incorporate local businesses into their Scavenger Hunt and would like to feature local goods in raffles that will be held throughout the week of NSO, August 15 - 22. Representatives will be visiting local businesses throughout July, inviting groups to participate, but would encourage interested parties to contact the University.

For more information or if you would like to know what other NSO opportunities might be available to you and your business, contact Beth Lee, Director of Career Services and Retention, at nso@hiu.edu or call (714) 879-3901 ext. 2309.
