7/1/09 Fullerton, CA - Hope International University Receives WASC Approval for Master of Arts in Education Administration
Hope International University received approval from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for another academic program in the Graduate Education Department. The Master of Arts in Education Administration brings breadth to HIU’s already strong education-focused programs, such as the Master of Education and the Multiple Subject Credential. Many graduates of these programs have received the prestigious “Teacher of the Year” award.
Just a few weeks ago, The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) approved a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential program, which can be combined with the Master of Arts program for a total of 30 units.
Dr. George West, Chair of the Graduate Education Department and Member of the Board of Education for the Garden Grove USD, states, “Our new Master of Arts program will enhance the Administrative Services Credential program and provide graduates a post-graduate degree designed around experiential fieldwork. Graduates will be well equipped to be visionary leaders at a school site or district office. They will also be prepared to matriculate to a doctoral program."
The program is available in both 100% online delivery and on-campus format for one night a week. The new program will begin August 31, 2009.
