PRESS RELEASE

9/15/12 Fullerton, CA - Record Incoming Class for Fall 2012

Hope International University (HIU) continues an upward trend in enrollment growth. This fall, the University hit a new record number of incoming students.

“We are now in our third year of steady growth,” President Dr. John Derry said. “Our reputation as a training ground for excellence in ministry, our global perspective, and the appeal of our intimate campus are significant components in our consistent ability to attract students to our unique experience in faith and education.”

The economy is a continuing challenge, but President Derry leads the HIU administration, faculty, and staff to remain focused on what makes HIU appealing: an emphasis on quality student-faculty interaction and excellent student services. He believes that those characteristics create an environment that beckons future students.

“We are especially pleased that our primary source of new students is referrals by alumni and current students,” he said.

Vice President for Enrollment Teresa Smith is happy with the results of the admissions team’s efforts. “Every year, the team finds new and better ways of attracting students and welcoming them,” she said. “We all know that enrollment numbers are important, but even more important are the future achievements of these students as they serve in their careers and ministries.”
