9/16/05 Fullerton, CA- Hope International University student to become Easter Seals Ambassador

Joy Durkee, an undergraduate student at Hope International University's Pacific Christian College, has been appointed to become an official 2005 Easter Seals Ambassador. Durkee, who has lived with a condition known as Spina Bifida, has been attending Easter Seals Camps for 12 years.

According to the Spina Bifida Association, an estimated 70,000 people in the United States are currently living with SB, the most common permanently disabling birth defect.

On Friday, September 16, the Brookstone Company was on campus to interview Durkee. Brookstone is producing a video training tool that will enable their employees to better serve and understand patrons with disabilities.
