Certificate and Degree Options

Credit Options. Students may complete OGI courses for bachelor’s credit, master’s credit, or for personal enrichment, with different assignments for each level. (For details, see under “How to Enroll.”) All academic credits will be awarded by Hope International University and will appear on a Hope transcript.

Students seeking academic credit must complete all requirements within 8 weeks of the end of the session. Credit students will typically complete their assignments after the session. However, in some cases, pre-course reading and assignments may be required.

Certificate & Degree Options. Students who complete all six courses for undergraduate or graduate credit will receive a Ministry Certificate from the Orchard Group Institute.

The Orchard Group strongly encourages its church planters to continue their education beyond the Institute. Toward that end, students may apply all OGI courses to either a bachelor’s or master’s degree from Hope International University. The Orchard Group particularly recommends the Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Ministry or Intercultural Studies, or the Master of Arts degree with an Emphasis in Christian Leadership, Church Planting, Intercultural Studies, or Worship.

Hope has designed all these degree programs for working adults. Both are available fully online, so that students may pursue an education without relocating as they continue to fulfil their ministries. The M.A. degree also includes on-ground learning options in the form of intensive 3-day or 8-day Residencies.
