M.S. in Management - International Development

Program Overview

As the demand for managers and leaders with advanced education and training increases, the Management Department continues its legacy of being at the forefront of reality-based curriculum and degree development.

The 30-unit Master of Science in Management - with an emphasis in International Development prepares men and women with management skills for cross-cultural global leadership. Global interaction is provided with students networking from many different cultures and countries addressing cultural issues, different community needs, and a wide variety of business and management activities. The International Development emphasis is distinctive because of its practical approach to managing in countries with community crisis, relief, and enterprise development.

Three core objectives are stressed within the program.

  1. To understand the issues involving community development and sustainability.
  2. To implement ethics as a foundation for appropriate leadership.
  3. To foster spiritual development as a basis for a servant- leader character.

Student's may begin the M.S. in Management program at any point in the year. The program is offered entirely online or on campus.

One may complete the program within 12 - 24 months but not take more than six years.

Admission Requirements

Applicants seeking entry into the M.S. in Management, International Development program must submit the following:

  • Completed application form with non-refundable $75.00 fee. (fee waived for Hope alums)
  • Official transcript(s) from an accredited university or college confirming completion of an undergraduate degree and any completed graduate work. Applicants desiring to be considered for waiver of transfer or prerequisite courses must submit relevant transcripts indicating graduate level courses or undergraduate courses respectively with a satisfactory grade of B or better.
  • Two completed reference forms sent to the School of Graduate Studies Admissions office.
  • A statement of purpose approximately 250 words indicating your reasons for entering the program of choice.

Probationary acceptance may be granted if other factors give evidence of the applicant's ability to successfully complete a program. The probationary status will be removed when the student has successfully completed nine semester units with a 3.0 G.P.A. or better.

Graduation Requirements

The following criteria serves as the major program assessment tool for the Master of Business Administration - International Development degree, and comprises the following elements:

  • Successful completion of 30 units of prescribed coursework
