Amnesty International Group

Back to Clubs and Organizations

The Hope International University group of Amnesty International was founded during the summer of 2004. Dr. Raj Singh, Chair of the Graduate Management Department, and Peter Rhima, Vice President of Graduate Management Student Association, coordinated the beginnings. Cynthia Chege has been appointed as the new student coordinator for year 2005-2006.

Photo - Amnesty International Amnesty International's mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights. Amnesty International is independent of any government, political ideology, or religious creed. It does not support or oppose any government or political system, nor does it oppose or support the views of the victims whose rights it seeks to protect. It is concerned solely with the impartial protection of human rights.

We welcome you to get involved in the Amnesty Activities. In the coming months Hope International University Amnesty Student group will organize events that will make people aware of the importance of cultivating global consciousness of other's needs and lead them to be active participants in helping to protect human rights.
