Boston Marathon explosions: Good Samaritan who gave away his race medal identified

In an act of selflessness, HIU Alum, Brent Cunningham, gave his medal to a young woman at the Boston Marathon who sat crying half a mile before the finish line. The race halted moments before she was able to cross the finish line and she had just found out her family, who were waiting at the finish line, were safe. Although Brent may not compete in the race again, he wanted her to have his medal. “She needed it more than I needed it. I just wanted her to know that ‘you’re worth it.’ With everything that has happened, our world is looking for hope. My whole life is about loving God and loving others. That’s who I am.”
