FULLERTON, CA :: On Saturday, May 13, 2023, Hope International University proudly held its 112th Commencement Ceremony in the Darling Pavilion of the Lawson-Fulton Student Center. Students earning graduate degrees, undergraduate degrees, and Spanish Track certificates were celebrated and cheered by the HIU faculty, staff, and an enthusiastic audience of loved ones and supporters. 

HIU alumna and newly-appointed Trustee, Megan Lemmons, delivered an enthusiastic Commencement Address on the topic of "God's Faithfulness and Your Purpose." Lemmons is the Teaching, Home Community & Rooted Pastor at Willamette Christian Church in West Linn, Oregon, and an adjunct professor at George Fox University. Megan earned two degree at Hope, a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and a Master's degree in Spiritual Formation.

Three graduating students where selected to address the Class of 2023 and guests: Lisanne Siebrecht (traditional undergraduate), Jalise McCaskill (online undergraduate), and Seth Hoetker (graduate studies). Each shared their personal journey to Hope, their HIU experience, and expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them along the way.

Graduating seniors Daunte Ferguson, Dylan Ferguson, and Sara Maniskas performed an arrangement of the beloved hymn, "Be Thou My Vision." 

Founded in 1928, the University moved to the Fullerton campus in 1973. HIU maintains a diligent commitment to its mission of empowering students through Christian Higher Education to serve the Church and impact the world for Christ. The Spring 2023 Class joins thousands of HIU alumni around the globe who embody our legacy of exceptional servant leadership.
