Hope International University is going all in on a brand new co-curricular eSports program, building out a dazzling arena and competition space with Head Coach and Founding Director, Sinjin Chun, leading the Royals. HIU will be one of the few collegiate scholarship programs in the nation, unique, in that Hope empowers gamers to develop their minds, talents, and skills in a Christian environment. HIU is committed to becoming the leading eSports program in our region and serving as a faithful witness in the eSports world. 

Chun has been an eSports coach specializing in the popular game League of Legends for many years, finding success in the semi-professional scene and previously at Midland University (Fremont, Nebraska) in the collegiate division where he focused on the training and development of players on the League of Legends team.

In his career as an eSports player and coach, Sinjin peaked in the Top 500 of the national leaderboard for LoL and competed in the Challenger scene with the high-profile teams, InControl Gaming and AlphaWolf eSports.

Coach Chun's experience at the top ranks of League fueled his decision to pursue coaching professionally. He joins the Royals with a passion and vision to develop a team that can compete for and ultimately bring home a championship!
