Founded in 1928, Hope International University celebrated its 88th commencement on December 12, 2009. The Fall 2009 graduates come from a student body of more than one thousand students drawn from 27 states and over 40 countries. The commencement speaker was Gene Sonnenberg.
The graduates illustrate the University’s mission of preparing both professional and voluntary servant leaders for congregations and communities. They also illustrate the University’s expanding commitment to adult learners and international students who want to make a positive difference where they will serve. These individuals join over 4,000 graduates and more than 10,000 former students who carry Hope International University’s legacy of service and ministry to the church and society. Their achievement has been facilitated by a faculty qualified by both academic credentials and Christian service at a top Southern California christian university.
This commencement celebrated Hope International University’s thirty-fifth academic year in Fullerton. Here, as earlier in Long Beach and Los Angeles, the University has maintained a diligent commitment to advance the mission of Christ around the world.
