Position Information

The Children’s Minister will provide spiritual leadership by modeling a Christ-centered lifestyle and nurturing children’s faith through biblical teaching and engaging ministry programs. This role oversees curriculum planning, volunteer recruitment and training, ministry administration, and coordination with church staff to ensure effective and organized programming. The minister will also build strong relationships with parents and families, equipping them with resources and opportunities.

What you bring The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Lead Children’s Minister: Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree preferred 3 years of applicable experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Pastoral Care – Must possess an empathetic and caring heart for ministering to children and families. Punctuality – Person must be time sensitive, honoring calendars of colleagues, volunteers, and guests. Software Familiarity – Familiarity with basic office software. Preferred experience with Planning Center Online, Google Suite, and a basic understanding of production equipment (sound, video, lighting). Learner – Must have a hunger to learn new skills, fresh ideas, and better ways of working. Spirituality – It is imperative that this person has made a life commitment to Jesus Christ, is in agreement with our beliefs, and has a work history and lifestyle that are consistent with biblical principles. In addition, being fully integrated in the life of the church family is extremely important. Communication – This position interfaces with a variety of people, including church staff members, volunteers, guests, and school personnel (who rent the building). Measurables Spiritual Impact- A qualitative review of how well the ministry is fostering spiritual growth in children and families. This includes feedback from parents, volunteers, and church leadership. Ministry Growth & Participation- Quantitative tracking of attendance and volunteer recruitment metrics. This will measure the overall health and growth of the children’s ministry. Program Execution- A review of how events and services are executed, focusing on organization, safety, and excellence. This will be evaluated through event debriefs and feedback from families and leadership. Team Cohesion- A qualitative review of interpersonal communication, team morale, and the minister’s ability to model community and collaboration with the church staff and volunteer team.

This full-time role is responsible for leading all aspects of the Children’s Ministry, ensuring a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment for kids and families. The minister will work closely with the church’s staff and ministry teams to integrate the children’s ministry into the broader church community.
