The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that nine HIU Royals athletic teams have earned the NAIA Scholar Team Award for excellence in the classroom. In order to be recognized with this honor, a team must meet several GPA requirements, including a minimum team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The following HIU teams were honored:

• Women's Golf (3.650 Team GPA)
• Women's Tennis (3.440 Team GPA)
• Women's Volleyball (3.370 Team GPA)
• Women's Basketball (3.330 Team GPA)
• Women's Cross Country (3.240 Team GPA)
• Women's Outdoor Track & Field (3.240 Team GPA)
• Softball (3.070 Team GPA)
• Women's Soccer (3.020 Team GPA)
• Beach Volleyball (3.560 Team GPA)
