HIU Hosts the Fullerton Children's Repertory Theater's Performances of CATS

Posted: January 6, 2015

The Fullerton Children's Repertory Theater (FCRT) opens their 2015 season with a showcase of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s popular musical CATS. The show will run from January 8-17 in the Pacific Auditorium on Hope International University’s Fullerton campus.

Based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot, CATS is the much-beloved story of a tribe of felines called the Jellicles. CATS is the third longest-running show in Broadway history and has been translated into over 20 different languages.

Since 1983 FCRT has been providing North Orange County youth with an opportunity to experience American musical theater. In 2012, the company began a partnership with HIU to stage shows twice each year in Hope's Pacific Auditorium.

During rehearsals late last year, FCRT was presented with a Disney VoluntEARS Community Fund grant by Kaz Takeda, Manager of Industrial Engineering for the Disneyland Resort. VoluntEARS is a charitable organization comprised of Disney cast members who donate their time to helping charities and service organizations in their communities around the world.
