Four years a college letterer, Elizabeth Gonzalez (BA ’14) is Hope International University’s career leader in pitching appearances, innings pitched and wins. She ranks second in strikeouts, and remains the only Royals pitcher since the turn of the century to receive first-team All-Golden State Athletic Conference laurels. But her legacy extends far beyond Hope’s record book.

An outstanding student athlete while studying Psychology at HIU, Gonzalez is now in her second year as HIU’s assistant softball coach. In a recent article by the OC Register, Gonzalez shares her uplifting personal story of how softball keeps her connected to her late brother who passed at a young age.
