Posted: July 15, 2022

Dr. Joshua Arnold joins HIU as the Vice President of Student Affairs following Dr. Mark Comeaux’s retirement after 17 years at Hope. Dr. Arnold has served Christ faithfully in the fields of ministry and student development, participating in God's redemptive story unfolding through institutions of distinctly Christian higher education, for nearly two decades. He served most recently as Vice President for Admissions & Student Development at Bluefield University in Bluefield, VA (2018-2022) and Chief Student Development Officer at Life Pacific University in San Dimas, CA (2013-2018). Dr. Arnold is an alumnus of Life Pacific University, graduating with a Bachelor of Theology ('03), and earned his M.Ed. in Student Affairs ('07) and Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership & Management ('18) from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. He and his family (Holly, wife; Isabella, daughter and HIU student; Noah and Sawyer, sons) currently reside in Chino Hills, CA.

Dr. Arnold is active in numerous professional associations, including the Association for Christians in Student Development and Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, where he serves as a Commissioner for Chief Student Development Officers.

“It is a privilege to join the good work God has initiated at Hope International University. Inside and beyond the classroom, what Hope offers is unique, valuable, and life-transforming. As the pandemic continues to wane, our team looks forward to reengaging many of the favorite traditions that have come to define the student experience at HIU. We are also eager to create new ones for an emerging generation of students. I am excited to see and experience the rich community we will build together this fall!”
