FULLERTON, CA :: On Saturday, December 14, Hope International University held its 108th Commencement Ceremony. Our Fall 2019 class includes 134 undergraduate and graduate (combined) and 11 Hispanic Ministry Certificates students who successfully completed their chosen course of study. Drawn from a global student body of nearly 4,000 students representing 42 states and 16 countries, these graduates now join over 14,000 alumni who carry HIU’s legacy of exceptional servant leadership to locations across the globe.

During the ceremony, undergraduate student speaker Cameron Henderson (Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and Biblical Studies) shared a poignant message focused on three simple words, “God loves you.” Online undergraduate Haley Johnson (Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Counseling) shared of her personal journey to Hope and encouraged graduates to trust God with His plan for their lives. Graduate student Reyes Baca (Master of Business Administration) spoke of how HIU's Christ-centered coursework impacted her, and reminded the audience to keep Jesus at the center of their lives.

The Commencement Address was delivered by Dr. Kevin Odor, HIU Trustee and former Lead Pastor of Canyon Ridge Christian Church in Las Vegas, NV. He exhorted the graduates and guests to continually ask God for wisdom as they pursue their respective callings. HIU President, Dr. Paul Alexander, reminded the graduates that they “are now and will forever be Royal.”

Founded in 1928, HIU commemorates the completion of its 91st academic year. The Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony marks Hope’s 46th year in Fullerton, where the University diligently maintains its commitment to empowering students through Christian higher education to serve the church and impact the world for Christ.
