This May we celebrated our 95th Commencement and welcomed more than 173 graduates into our alumni community. The Spring 2013 graduates come from a student body drawn from 27 states and over 40 countries. The commencement speaker was Bruce Templeton, retiring Senior Pastor of First Christian Church, Huntington Beach, who encouraged the new graduates to keep God as the center of their lives.

First Christian Church, Huntington Beach, has been one of the highest supporting churches of the University and their continued generosity was displayed at Commencement as Bruce presented a check for $100,000 to Dr. Derry.

“Commencement is the highlight of the year for the HIU community and the excitement among graduates and their families is inspiring,” said Dr. Derry, President of HIU. “It is humbling to think we have had the opportunity to be a part of preparing these man and women for careers of influence in the world.”
