Best New Courses of 2009 (Links Magazine)
Hope International University's mission to prepare students for a lifetime of servant leadership would not be possible without the involvement of our alumni, community, and friends. The up-coming 7th Annual Golf Marathon Fundraiser is an opportunity to make a significant impactby helping deserving students achieve their dreams.
Held at The Links at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, this spirited day-event offers fun and friendly competition aimed at raising funds for student scholarships and departmental programs. Since the Golf Marathon's inception in 2007, nearly $250,000 has been raised to help countless deserving students.
The course is a 9 Hole, executive Par 3 course. The tournament is non-scoring and golfers play 3 tee shots per hole, for 18 holes, for a total of 54 holes.
The minimum entry fee per golfer is $400. As an added incentive, each golfer has a shot at winning the Hole-in-One prize – a 2013 Lexus ES 350. Players will also compete in a putting contest where the winner has the opportunity to make a putt worth $3,000. The event begins at 12 o’clock noon. Golfers receive many commemorative gift items in addition to prizes awarded during the tournament dinner at Nelson’s, one of Terranea Resort’s premiere restaurants. Located on the cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes, Nelson’s boasts spectacular views of the Point Vicente Lighthouse and Catalina Island.
All monies raised will be used for student scholarships and departmental programs. To sponsor a golfer or a program of interest, click here. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available.
