Posted: May 15, 2012

The 6th Annual Golf Marathon fundraiser was once again a success this year thanks to Hope International University’s committed group of golfers, donors, and sponsors. Held on May 14 at Heartwell Golf Course in Long Beach, CA, the event raised $33,000 for student scholarships. In the past six years, the Marathon has raised more than $200,000, which has gone toward aiding the more than 90% of HIU students who require financial aid to attend college.

For the sixth consecutive year, University Trustee Chuck Puckett was the top fundraiser, bringing in almost $5,000. The 2012 sponsors included: Del and Ann Harris; Eric Modrell - Proline Electric; Scott Dowds - Farmers & Merchants Bank; Eclectic Associates; Crane Architectural Group; Payne’s Janitorial Services, Inc.; Church Development Fund; First Christian Church of Huntington Beach; and Christ Church of the Valley, San Dimas.
