2020 HIU Golf Challenge Raises $60K for Student Scholarships

Posted: September 3, 2020

DANA POINT, CA :: On Monday, August 31, Hope International University held its 14th Annual GOLF CHALLENGE at the spectacular Monarch Beach Golf Links. The 2020 event, originally scheduled for May, was postponed due to COVID19. Upon the safe reopening and sanitation precautions taken by the golf course, HIU was able to successfully reschedule the tournament which raised $60,000 to fund student scholarships and departmental programs.

This year’s tourney drew a record number of golfers, including HIU friends, supporters, alumni, trustees, administrators, staff, and local church pastors/leaders. Participants enjoyed panoramic coastal views and ideal conditions while competing for prizes and enjoying the round. Immediately afterward, the group gathered on the outdoor patio of nearby Salt Creek Grille for a fun, informal awards dinner.

A very special Thank You to all of our 2020 sponsors whose contributions helped make this event a success: Dr. Paul Alexander, The Solomon Foundation, CDF Capital, Rizio Lipinsky Law Firm/Will Mullins, One&All Church, Refinery Christian Church, Proline Electrical Contractors, Inc., DC Construction/PGA Construction, Direct Print & Promotion, Peter C. Foy & Associates, Faithlife/Logos Bible Software, and The Wright Image.
