Hope Community Enjoys a Day of Fun and Celebration

Posted: April 1, 2014

On Tuesday, April 15, Hope International University took a day off from the usual routines. All undergrad classes were cancelled and all campus offices closed at 9:30am to allow HIU students, staff, and faculty to take part in Spring Fever Day. This special time was an opportunity to celebrate being part of the Hopecommunity.

The festivities began with an all-community chapel, featuring addresses from nationally-known speaker Megan Fate and HIU President Dr. John Derry. The rest of the day was filled with games and special events, as well as lunch courtesy of Chick-fil-A. Prizes were raffled off throughout the day, including gift cards, movie passes, and tablets. A dazzling show by illusionist Danny Ray rounded out the afternoon’s activities.

The evening featured a trip to Angel Stadium in neighboring Anaheim. After a rousing tailgate party, the Hope community enjoyed a baseball game between the Angels and the Oakland Athletics.
