"Circus Royale" Comes To HIU For Halloween

Posted: October 20, 2013

Men, women and children of all ages are invited to “Circus Royale,” HIU’s annual Halloween Happy House event. Free and open to the public, “Circus Royale” will run from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31.

For over 20 years the Happy House event has been a time for HIU students to give back to the local community by offering kids and their families a safe, fun environment on Halloween. Last year 3,000 kids came to Hope’s campus for an evening of candy, activities, and adventure. Happy House is made possible each year by the 300 students, staff and faculty that plan, prepare, and participate in the event.

Stand out features that play on this year’s “Circus Royale” theme include carnival games, clown academy, a fun house, and a life size coloring book room. There will also be plenty of trick-or-treating, a haunted house, and a live skit that helps children learn about finding their personal value.

“This year our goal is for every child to feel loved and that they have a purpose,” said Michele Kleeman, Student Activities Advisor. “The theme verse is Romans 12:2. We are not called to conform to what the world wants for us, but to be transformed into the best we can be for the Lord.”
