Message from the Dean

Thank you for your interest in Hope International University's College of Education.  It is my pleasure to welcome you to what we trust will be a rewarding and life-changing experience.  Your incredible journey over the next few years will prepare you to be a highly qualified and effective educator. 

We are proud of the program that we offer at HIU.  HIU graduates have distinguished themselves as teachers and administrators in both local public and private schools as well as throughout the United States and the world. 

The HIU College of Education is notable for:

  • Small classes taught by outstanding faculty, many of whom are veteran practitioners in Orange County public and private schools
  • Comprehensive, innovative instructional materials and textbooks, reviewed each year to ensure students receive the most up-to-date curriculum
  • One-on-one mentoring for all students in both HIU’s teacher and administrative credential programs
  • Partnership opportunities for student teaching and administrative fieldwork with the finest schools systems in Southern California
  • Courses designed specifically to align with our students’ time including evening, weekend and online courses
  • International student opportunities including the study of English as a Second Language

Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential

At Hope, the SB 2042 Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential program provides state approved professional preparation for a career in K-6 public or private elementary schools, or self-contained classrooms through grade 12.
