Posted: April 20, 2018

Hope International University’s College of Arts & Sciences proudly announces the addition of a Criminal Justice (CRJ) degree program to its Traditional Undergraduate and Online Undergraduate studies, launching in June 2018. HIU's Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice provides preparation for students pursuing career options in law enforcement, corrections, and public safety. It may also be used as preparation for law school.

Students pursuing the Criminal Justice major will learn about human behavior and its causes as well as crime, crime prevention, law enforcement, public safety, and corrections. The B.A. in Criminal Justice prepares students to be successful leaders in their communities and in the fields of law, law enforcement, and criminology.

“What excites me about the Criminal Justice major is the opportunity to impact communities by developing peacemakers who have a deep love for servant leadership and community service,” states Dr. Paul Alexander, HIU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs. “I know that HIU students will bring excellence, passion and commitment to Law Enforcement organizations in California and the rest of the United States. I can’t wait to see where God will use these men and women in the years ahead!”

Christian ethics are integrated into each course providing students with a solid basis for addressing contemporary social, moral and ethical issues. Students will be able to make appropriate connections between Christian beliefs and social science concepts, theories, and methodologies.
