Application Process

Step 1: Apply

Complete one of the following applications based on your status. These Applications are available at limited times during the year. If it is unavailable, please email [email protected] to find out when applications are open for Fall or Spring!

New Student Application - For incoming freshman and students living on campus for the first time

Returning Student Application - For students who have previously lived on campus

Dorm-Only Application - For non-HIU students who wish to live on our campus


Step 2: Contact Financial Aid

Financial Aid will be working with you to ensure you have turned in all necessary paperwork to be cleared for housing. You must be cleared with the financial aid department prior to moving onto campus. You will be unable to receive your key and move your items in on move in day if you are not cleared by move-in day.

Step 3: Check your Email

Regularly check your email, including your HIU email when it is created. Email is the primary form of communication our housing office uses. Checking your email is the best way to ensure that you are not missing any important information and updates regarding housing.

In early August or early January, our department will notify you via email of information regarding your room placement and move-in day. Move-in day is always the week of NSO.
