EDU6511 Language and Literacy Education in Secondary Schools (3)
Students explore the components of balanced comprehensive literacy in-struction at the secondary level. Students examine the research basis for providing effective literacy instruction and learning. They will also learn in-structional procedures designed to provide access to the curriculum for all students, regardless of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. A minimum of six (6) hours of language and literacy instruction observation in a classroom with students from cultural, linguistic, ethnic, or socio-economic back-grounds different from that of the teacher credential candidate is required.
