The first half of this course centers on the capstone achievement of Geof-frey Chaucer: The Canterbury Tales. It examines Chaucer's social and polit-ical commentary, as well as, his use of the language. The second half of the course centers on the poetry and prose of John Milton. His capstone work: Paradise Lost, is examined as a literary work of surpassing faith, genius, and a timeless commentary on the human interaction with the divine. (Pre-requisites: ENG1100 & ENG2100,)
