Cultural Anthropology

SSC4400 Cultural Anthropology (3)

Students explore the concept of culture, dimensions of culture, and the im-pact of cultural systems on human behavior. The course introduces models and means for identifying, comparing, and contrasting the traits of different cultures, including the student's own. It encourages students to recognize and respect cultural diversity, with a view toward preparing them to deal intelligently with the worldwide emerging patterns of postmodern multi-cultural societies. Special Consideration: The faculty requires Intercultural Studies majors and highly recommends that Christian Ministry majors com-plete this course sometime during their B.S. program-preferably before entering the Major Course Sequence.
